PAULINE VATA

CEO & Founder

Pauline Vata is an accomplished human rights lawyer with over eight years of experience leading non-profit organizations and advocating for socio-economic rights. With a solid background in global human rights, Pauline is a thoughtful, collaborative, and strategic leader who has managed highly effective teams that have made significant contributions to law and policy. Currently, Pauline is the founder and lead Advocate at Pauline Vata & Company Advocates.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Pauline is pursuing her Master's degree in Human Rights while holding a Bachelor's of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, Pauline is a certified mediator and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Her tireless dedication to human rights advocacy has made a tremendous impact on marginalized communities in Kenya and beyond. An expert in public policy advocacy, Pauline is a passionate campaigner for human rights, skilled in research, advocacy, fundraising, and policy analysis, with strong writing and communication skills. She has a deep understanding of multicultural environments and has worked extensively on socio-economic rights globally.

Professional Experience and Achievements

Previously, Pauline served as the Executive Director of Hakijamii, a Kenyan human rights organization that supports marginalized groups in advocating for their economic and social rights. She led an innovative litigation team focused on economic and social rights and coordinated Hakijamii's efforts in monitoring and publicizing violations of housing and basic rights of the urban poor. Pauline has vast experience in human rights, with a particular focus on public policy analysis related to housing and land rights for the urban poor.
